Hey All!
I have a phone interview for a data scientist role at snowflake comming up. Any advice on how to prep?
The email indicates that the call will cover my experience, motivations, and understanding of Snowflake.
Curious if other have gone through the process and have insights to share. Or if anyone at snowflake can shed light on how I can be effective.

100% Dallas at 199K. Bang for buck and possibly WLB / city culture is unquestionable.
I live in Dallas, it’s great. If you are really smart please go to Apple so you can positively contribute to my retirement.
My two cents: 199k in Dallas will get you WAY MORE than 210k in San Jose.
Are these numbers total comp or base?
How is everyone ignoring the fact that Dallas is just wildly different from Bay Area? Where do you actually want to live?
If you want tech long term - apple
Dallas all the way. You won’t have to deal with aggressive homeless people and literal human feces on the sidewalks
My version of quality of life: excellent suburban schools, home prices under $400/sqft, access to golf, tennis, lake houses, ranches, two excellent airports, cheap flights, and not dealing with the monoculture in the Bay Area.
So what if it’s hot? In my experience it’s mostly obese people that complain about the heat because they sweat too much
F50 is way more chill with strong comp. What are your longer-term aspirations? Is name brand a huge deal for you?

Current money Dallas makes more sense. Exit opportunities in the Bay Area coming out of Apple will be greater and may result in higher comp over time. Just a thought.

Is Apple in Austin an option? Also, as far as WLB, my understanding is it depends on the group you’re in. Marketing is apparently great, anything in engineering will apparently work you to death.
Isn’t the RSU comp significant at Apple? Am I missing something here?
Not for Program Managers

Quality of life in Dallas will be way better given that similar salary. However, Apple is a fantastic stepping stone if you want to progress your career elsewhere.
You won’t be able to buy a house here in SJ for less than 1.3m and even then will need to be fixed up. You’ll probably have a 45-60 mins commute
11k difference... Negotiate with Dallas firm to match it.. if it doesn't work.. accept 199K..
Aim for 250k in San Jose if you want to move. Do you work at Deloitte?
No!
Apple
Go to Dallas unless the job profile at Apple is really futuristic.
Dallas and it’s not even close
What kind of role this is, really matters. I’m guessing supply chain. If so, supply chain is supply chain not really tech so whether Apple vs. Exxon/McKesson/AT&T then Dallas for sure.
If marketing or finance, maybe Apple has the edge. If it’s PM definitely Apple though I’m guessing it’s not based on comp.

The Dallas option is much better.
Unless the offer is for a massive hydrocarbon company based in the metroplex.
Is this Total Comp or Base Salary?
