29yo single female just moved to ATL. In corporate housing now, but need to find an apt. Want something near restaurants, bars, shops etc. and don't think I want to be in Buckhead. Suggestions?

I'm sorry, but the words Alpharetta and City in the same sentence to me sounds like an Oxymoron! - From a midtown Atlanta resident

I want to be the first to apologize that you moved to Atlanta. It's all one big suburb, but outside of Buckhead there is Midtown.

Virginia highlands area is good. And also midtown.

Westside

Is Buckhead good? I'm staying there next week

Buckhead, VA highlands, anything but midtown

Westside is booming now.. Also look up peachtree park apartment - a bit sketch, but great location at a ridiculous price, specially if you are never there

Ridiculously cheap is what I meant..

@D3 yes, Buckhead is one of the nicer areas of town

Midtown, Inman Park, and downtown specially twelve cenntenial park complex. Also Atlantic station. All are great locations with things in walking distance. Wouldn't recommend buckhead because the traffic is unbearable

Oh wow! I didn't realize we had this many people living in Atlanta

I live in Alpharetta, and while it's a bitch to the office, it's a great city. Ultra safe, high end, good for young people.

Yea definitely not Alpharetta.

Pros:

- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.

- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work

Cons:

- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time
