Hi Fishes, Can Anyone please tell, one of my friend joined Tech M in August, At the time of joining she was 3 months pregnant and now shes worrying about her manager. She wants to inform them about her pregnancy; is it right time to inform? Or she needs to wait for 6 more months for that to inform? Anyone please clearify.. This helped us http://kids-nook.com/advice/every-child-can-learn-to-sleep/ - after 2 nights everything goes smoothly - this allows you to change whatever is currently not working in the sleep routine right now (wake up, rocking, carrying, etc)
Look for a rock n’ play sleeper. It is like magic! My son would only sleep in this for the first year or so when a lot of rocking was needed to put him to sleep.
What’s your sleep routine like? For the first 3 mos we had to rock him for each sleep which was brutal. Now he’s 6 mos, he has his diaper changed, is bathed, then the lights go out and the white noise comes on and he’s fed. He also now prefers sleeping on his belly so we let him to that (used to be back, then side, now belly). He picks up cues from the process that gets him to sleep easily. My wife only lies alongside him for 5-15 mins to tap him to sleep. But once he’s out, he’s out.
Pwc1 very similar situation. Tapping works when he is half asleep in our case but mostly he needs rocking. He sleeps at 9 wakes up at 5 or 6.
We’re on a very similar routine to P1 with our 6 mth old. Used to rock to sleep more or less every time but started daycare where that’s not an option and we have piggybacked off that and started to put her by herself with no rocking and it worked after a couple of days. Still have to go back and forth a couple of times but usually only a 15-20 minute process
Always rocked my son to sleep. He went through a couple regressions but for the most part once he's asleep, he sleeps like a champ. 10-11 hours/night. It generally takes 10-20 min of rocking but a couple nights ago he pointed to his crib and he went in and was out in 5 minutes
I think a key is putting them in the bed drowsy early on so that they fall asleep in the crib on their own. Who knows though... Every baby is different.
Make the room super dark and cold, put the child on bed and instead of rocking, just pat. When asleep put him back in his crib. The only thing to make sure is to make sure that you do not doze off as co-sleeping raises SIDS risk. Another option is to raise your bed and his crib platform so that you can gently pat him in his crib itself.
