A Facebook recruiter has reached out to me about a role in Menlo Park, CA. I am currently based on the east coast and unable to relocate. The language the recruiter used makes me feel as though she’s very interested and reiterated multiple times that she’d like to chat even if I can’t take this role. Obviously I’m going to have the conversation - how do I turn this specific role down without taking myself out of the running for geographically desirable ones with the company?

Curious for those in public accounting right now….are any of you open to leaving still with busy season coming closer? I know when I was in public, I was hesitant from 1/15 until 4/15 but wasn’t sure if this is still the norm? I want to be respectful and not reach out to people if it’s too late as to not tempt them if it would look poorly on their resume. Would love your advice!

Saw a job on LinkedIn applied for it and the CEO of the startup reached out to me saying he was game to move to the next stage of the process. Spoke to hiring manager and they even offered another position which matched my skills. Scheduled a full panel interview. Met with the team had a great chat, Founder even said "I guess you can start right away"..Hiring manager calls later says they'll update then boom that generic email hits my inbox. At this point you're just like arrrrrrgh😩

I answered few and quite I was not sure of answers. She gave feedback like my communication and confidence level is good and project wise I'm having good knowledge and coming to concept wise it's not upto the mark for experience. When I negotiated my comp, all my discussions were around me being a junior and I only accepted my comp for that reason (would not have accepted if I was step above junior since it was low). Negotiations happened with HR, but my offer letter and documents never mention junior (but I have proof from HR saying I am a junior). Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!

After 4 months of casually applying and 3 months of dedicated searching after work hours, 130+ applications, 5 recruiter screens and 3 final rounds later... finally found an exit!!! You can all do it - I believe in you all!

I've been exploring exit opportunities for a few months and still holding out for the right opportunity. However, I've had A LOT of recruiters reach out to me for positions that are way below my current salary. They do the whole "your background and expertise is exactly what we're looking for" then turn around and offer a salary range that is 20k below my current level. My resume clearly says I've got 10yrs experience and an MBA. I **don't think* I should be getting offers of 80k-100k
