Hi, I am being offered 27L + 2L Variable for Manager (M1) at KPMG India. Will I also be eligible for year end performance bonus? Or is variable pay the only amount that I’d be eligible for?

Looking at roles on Stripe’s financial crime team.- I’ve seen mixed reviews about the company on here. I’m relatively new to the industry and willing to compromise a bit on WLB especially since the role aligns really well with a lot of my experience and interests . Does anyone have insight into the financial crime team culture there?

Is Morgan Stanley currently remote? Just got a job for a contract position in NYC for Morgan Stanley downtown office (1 Penn plaza). I heard from some employees that they are remote but the hiring manager said I should come into office. Kinda confused why a contractor would need to come into office and employees are working remote.

~80% of my compensation is commission, so it impacts my day-to-day morale daily… luckily I’ve built a practice that, for the most part, is managed money with a fee that’s based on assets under management…
Got to risk it to get the biscuit…
Would definitely be on the same page if i had a similar structure, but dont think i could handle such a huge variable in my monthly pay!
More power to you dude
Strangely for me not so much, I get paid enough base salary to cover my expenses plus extra to save. The commission side of my practice only goes to boost this number.
Now I’m not particularly foolish enough to be complacent in not wanting more, thankfully in my career me getting paid more is directly tied to production!
Awesome place to be in, congrats!
A bit but the people who are getting paid more have to do more and are responsible for more. I get to go home and I’m not held as responsible for when things go wrong.
I suppose so. But there's a sweetspot surely right? I've got 7 years of experience and get paid way more than the guys with 3 years of experience, even though im not a manager yet (so the role is pretty much the same)
I completely understand where you’re coming from. From a skills perspective, I am far better than some of my peers, but they’re getting staffed on better projects because of their relationships. It took me a really long time to realize that the ability to navigate office politics is a skill, and that skill is worth more than any of the technical skills that I have. It sucks, but I just have to think about if the money I am making is more than the money that I can make elsewhere, and if it is, then I keep doing the job… And if it isn’t, then I find somebody else who will pay me more. Ultimately, now I just try to look at my peers and their salary as a metric against which I should use to negotiate elsewhere.
