If you're an EVP, make sure it's clear what you bring to the table. But if you're just an early hire and the company is already established, equity is probably a long-term thing. Discuss it as a KPI, and put it in the contract. For now, just take a salary. Bird in the hand.
Known other who made similar jump, they were all offered profit sharing with equity after a certain period/hitting certain goals
I was able to do it without a hit. Most growing places would hopefully insist to offer equity, to help ensure youâll be more invested in their success (no pun intended lol)
I missed the pun. That just seems like a straight-up use of the word.
I'd be nervous about an agency that was giving away equity too easily. Most agencies will expect you to earn it, unless you're bringing business with you or they're at the very early stages of their development. Make sure you get a good lawyer, I've also seen people screwed out of their stake because of bad contracts.
Profit sharing more likely
