Dangerous freedom > Peaceful slavery

Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

A11 don't be greedy. 110 for 3 years in tech is pretty good haha
It's how it has always been with ACN. Analysts below you probably make the same you are making if not more because they always increase the starting salary each year but don't always give everyone that same raise. That's why if you stay for a long time you are probably being paid under market value
Wtf are you serious? That's how much I make as a consultant. Although analyst starting base was 65k when I joined. Still though, I feel like I deserve a market adjustment.
I'm grateful for my salary, no doubt! Just confused at how they can pay a new analyst that much but pay Sr. analysts the same or lesser salaries.
Accenture is trying to swipe the best talent. We had trouble recruiting at my school because Accenture was given people better offers last year.
I'm a consultant making 75k base in tech consulting. Should I be looking around?
Deloitte is hiring
I didn't post this to get people feathers ruffled, I'm just emotional because I know people who work hard for the same amount. There just needs to be a salary adjustment to match the hardwork.
Where is this info from? From what I understand strategy analyst base is 75k, strat senior analyst is 85k
Fuuuuck, I hope this isn't true only bc everybody above them is getting fucked. They'd have to bump everyone 10k so ppl don't storm out. OP, where did u hear this? I came on with 2 1/2 years exp and a masters and only started at 80 as a senior analyst
Should be happy for a salary...lots are being laid off bc of chargabiliity
Check managementconsulted.com or Wall Street Oasis
"Going to try" and actually doing are two totally different things
A1 same! So mad
Accenture strategy adjusted last year to match Bain/BCG. Bonuses are still catching up.
Wow that makes me feel like I should switch firms then come back in a year or two. Three year tech Consultant @ 110k 😒
85K huh? The grass may just BE greener on the other side 😍
Started as an intern, then joined next year. The next year after people got offers for 10k more. And one of my intern buddies happened to take half a gap year and got to join with the new salary.
I'm an Associate Manager and make a little more - that blows.
Just left for BAH, ACN is screwing people if you didn't come from a target school. 3 years at ACN, Army Veteran, and was making 10k less than the analyst i was managing who was fresh out of school. Transferred from SI to MC
