High tech does work across that industry space, it can be anything from growth strategy to transformation work for cost reduction. Since Accenture has a regional model the clients you work with will vary pretty greatly between locations, so I would suggest being on the West coast if you want to go into High Tech.
I am!
In my geography high-tech refers to companies that typically design and/or manufacture advanced products. What they have in common are very advanced operations. Semiconductors, medical tech, communications etc.
Aerospace and defence used to be in high-tech but now is its own thing due to the sector being very insular and a very special market.
Accenture Strategy will therefore pitch any strategy project they can to them. I suppose we may focus more on solutions that have an advanced tech component that we can also install. For example, I designed the op model for an aero manufacturer’s repair operations. This included moving to using a much more advanced method of forecasting wear and tear (based on the performance of the components across ever-changing routes for the aircraft). Part of our original pitch was “this is not a BS technology that all our competitors simply read about in a blog, we can implement it for you”.

Not from Accenture, but have several colleagues who are and they say they are always busy and there isn’t much WLB. But that’s just their opinion because I don’t know how many hours they work a week
Have worked on some Tech Strat projects and they have been the best WLB and least stressful projects I’ve been on. However, I’m not sure if you mean High Tech as an industry group, haven’t worked with any colleagues from that group.
Yup the industry group sorry
