P1 trying to be an ass...
digital/tech consulting >>> strategy consulting in today’s landscape, and bcg/mck. are trying to hard to compete with accenture on those projects, and they are def trying to get talents from Accenture
I've had a good run with them, but definitely saw my career being stifled by staying with the company. Peace out!!
I know dozens of high performing TDP folks who have been fucked over for years with bonuses. Leave and grow at an organization that values you. If you got into BCG obviously you know what you're doing. Principal 1 jealous af.
Guessing P1 is t Accenture. Principal track at Accenture was for mediocre performers who get pushed off Partner track and into deeper SMA knowledge. They just stay stay SM/low leadership forever. (Or...sometimes they just decide not to travel and have real lives.)
I'm in CD&O, which historically has shitty pay and bonuses. I came in at the top of the pay band and never got a raise for that reason. I've never been labeled a poor performer, and have received average-to-high bonuses for our group each year. It would take another 4-5 years and two promotions at Accenture to match what I'll be making now, plus better experience across more work streams. The answer was clear.
Yes ... he was a mediocre performer who was poached by a superior company
It's in their Boston office, so I'm having to relocate. I had an initial phone screening interview with the recruiter, then another phone interview with my would-be senior manager. Those both went well, so they flew me up to Boston for five on-site interviews. Those were a mix of skills and behavioral interviews. Finally, a few days later I had two final phone interviews and received an offer a few days later. All in all it probably took 2-3 weeks from first contact to offer, which is pretty quick I feel. I did wait about a week or two from applying online to the initial screening interview though.
You stayed way too long
P1 if we was a mediocre performer at Accenture i doubt he would pass the interview process and case studies to receive an offer at BCG (highly unlikely imo and yes i worked at Accenture)
P1, leave some salt for the rest of us 🤦♂️. Good luck OP with the new opportunity.
Hey OP, I'm with Accenture and have an upcoming BCG interview. Very interested in hearing your experience. I tried to message you but you're account prevents DMs. Care to chat?
Ever since I got shitted on first time I was eligible for promo after doing everything from work to volunteer events to project events, captain, etc, things have been going well. Promo, skills bonus, promo.... good luck to you OP. It certainly does happen. People either are fast track, on-track or on the dirt road
Welcome to CD&O 🙄
Welcome!
Are you shitting me? 5 years without a raise ? Why would you stay
Yea, it sucks outside of Strategy. I've received a raise every year and sometimes multiple per year. Good luck!
A10, Quality Assurance Lead. It's an internal role, so no more travel either 😎
Welcome aboard!
OP - how did you find the BCG job? Did they reach out to you?
