Large bonus potential depends on lot of factors so don’t just make a decision on variable pay. Depending on long or near term goals make your decision .
Go to ACN and then try to lateral back to D at SM for the double raise. D generally considers ACN equivalent as 1 position down the ladder though so will need to use some good self promotion
I was in a similar situation with another big 4. Went with D from a brand and growth perspective and I don’t regret my decision. Honestly you can make that up with bonus. Also with good performance you can get promoted with a higher salary/overall comp package. At the end of the day, do what feels right for you. All the best bud!
Go with higher base. They can always dangle bonus in front of you to make your sweat more but a base salary is locked in.
Is that bonus potential 20k?🤔
They’re “standardizing” our bonuses within our pay bands... so I wouldn’t hold my breath.
How large is potential bonus?
Potential bonus at D is 30% but assume it would be significant less. Long term earning at Deloitte is higher, I’d assume, but not sure if I have more than another 3 years left in me.
Accenture bonus probably in that 10-20% range.
Do appreciate everyone’s perspective. Brand and general life style at Deloitte are better too
Why of course Deloitte! When you sign on, we will take measurements for your brand new track suit and shoes! Everyone wants those 2 things!
But really joking aside, I made the choice for Deloitte over another Big 4 and 8 yrs later no regrets!
Why not aim for D SM at the first place?
In my mind, D SM and ACN SM are not the same. At ACN You can make SM in as few as 6 years. I feel like it takes closer to 10 at D. I only have 7 years or experience and only ~6 that’s truly relevant
Consider leveraging ACN offer at D. Also FWIW 2020 MBAs are coming in at $160K—maybe another negotiating point
Because I now have two offers. I could still renege on Deloitte.
But yeah, also making myself crazy. 🙃
Congratulations and Welcome to D.
Thanks!
ACN SM also comes with stock grants and 6% 401k match after ~1yr that 100% vests at 2yrs. That could be an extra $30
Go for that higher base, because bonus is not guaranteed. Certainly not 20k
