Hey,
Is it a good idea to join Paypal for Software Engineer III from Walmart Software Engineer III, for the base salary of 35LPA and 9L RSUs per year for Chennai location ? I am currently withdrawing 24LPA as base and 4.2 as Variable and 3.5L RSUs vested for 4 years.
I have been told that I'll be part of Risk team under Paypal Transactions domain. Any Idea how is the work culture and tech stack here in this team?

I would definitely be persistent. I am not sure why you weren't paid your full pay, but if was your company's fault, they definitely need to make it right as soon as possible. Please be a pain. While it's not breaking the bank, it's your money.
🚩🚩🚩 massive red flags that you’re missing pay and they’re not communicating / proactively addressing and you’re having to chase. You should 1000% not be feeling any time of bad. But I’d be seriously considering why and if it’s not a symptom of a bigger issue.
Do not back down until the money hits your account.
You have every right to be a PITA - do not feel the least bit guilty. This is your paycheck and we wouldn’t be working if we didn’t need it.
If you don’t get your full pay tomorrow with everything you were owed, send out another urgent email first thing in the morning to your boss, the head of HR, and the head of payroll. If they haven’t responded by noon, email again, and then at 4pm if needed. Something similar happened to me a few years ago and this is what I did, and I got immediate responses. If you don’t, seriously consider getting an attorney. Not kidding. This is a job, not charity work.
You get paid to work, correct me if I missed it, but I doubt you signed up for a volunteer program. The fact that no one else is advocating for your pay is a major red flag! I would definitely be a pain/nuisance until full payment is received. I had this issue with a previous employer and no action was taken until I stopped working and spent my FULL eight hours tracking down my pay.
Thank you everyone. The person who handles payroll was out & didn’t want us to not get paid at all so they submitted as is. I missed 16 hrs - 8 of which were OT. It’s since turned into a process & we’re a smaller team so I get ppl can be swamped. They now have to go through our payroll specialist to get it corrected so there’s no guarantee I’ll see it tomorrow either but I am going to press the issue & continue to bug my boss about it.

I worked for a company who was, I believe, committing Medicaid fraud. That, on top of the weekly “paycheck” we would receive was in the form of a government check, and the owner of the company would look at us (staff of 15) and tell us to WAIT TO DEPOSIT THE CHECK BECAUSE THEY MAY NOT GO THROUGH JUST YET. This happened every week for the 2-3 months I was working there. I would take my $300 check for the week, walk down to my bank, and my bank would tell me they would not be able to deposit the check due to insufficient funds in the original account.
Side note: the bank teller really had my back here. After the 3rd or 4th week I came in to deposit my useless check, the same teller did some digging and revealed to me the reason why my check wouldn’t go through was due to insufficient funds in the company’s account. We bank at the same institution so that was the only thing working in my favor. I was able to recover about ⅓ of what I was legally owed. I tried to bring it to the police, they said it was a civil matter and sent me on my way. I left that horrible company and never looked back.
I hope you keep making noise until you receive every cent of every hour/minute you worked. You have legal rights and can hold your employer accountable and liable if they do not pay you.
I didn’t have time to review my paystub yesterday but did this morning & STILL have not been paid for those missing hours even after having a meeting with our finance guy about getting it corrected so I sent an email along with this text to my boss.

Did you get a reply? This is horrendous. I'm not sure where you're located but DM me if you'd like a referral
10000% be persistent and don’t stop.
Hell no.
Of course! It's your right to get paid. You're working for them after all.
Oh hell no ! RED FLAG… do you sit on meetings? I would take that as the company values and potentially finances aren’t doing well and I would start applying elsewhere
I’d also add you need to do all your communication with them in writing if there are issues down the line. Take screen shots of your hours and pay stubs.

DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Every email, text, phone call, in person conversation. Dates, times, who your corresponded with and what was discussed. Keep screen shots, save emails, do not delete any texts, and make sure you forward all correspondence you use with your company email/phone to your personal accounts. You want to make sure you keep all this information in one place, on your personal computer. If you keep the receipts girl, you’ll have a mountain of evidence you can use to your benefit to get yourself paid, and to hold your company accountable. I would be looking for another job ASAP.
