I'm sorry. I'm in a similar boat - it's been a mix of big consulting & independent consulting for me. Now looking to exit to something with a more decent WLB and purpose. I'm thinking public sector
Very true. Just wish the turnaround process would be quicker. Sort of want to leave asap 😞
I say don’t sacrifice your wellbeing no longer - ive quit without anything lined up and I can tell you the 2months I have been relaxing have been nothing but awesome! Plenty time for friends, family, side projects, myself etc.
I have been doing some pro bono strategy work for a very early stage startup and am about to start a project as an independent contractor. Ive also been tactically applying for jobs Ive really been interested in to see where that leads.

Thank you. I think the only issue I would have is that I don’t have much in savings…
Would probably be able to float myself for about 2 months or so if I was frugal.

I just left Deloitte for Slalom. 2 months in and WLB has been amazing. Love the work I’m doing, very low stress.
Sorry not too familiar with Slalom. Is it your typical consulting firm?
Why stay if you’re not happy? There’s a big broad world out there. I’m not trying to be a jerk, just being real.
I have three rules for any job I take - like the team, feel like I’m learning and engaged with the work and feel invested in by mgmt. If those boxes aren’t being checked long term then I’m out. For me, w/l balance isn’t one of my “big 3” but you should develop your own boxes
I have bills to pay 😔
