I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. Might have been to put you over the overtime limit?
Regardless, I’d look at this raise as a positive thing that shows they value you! I’d just thank your boss and talk to them about what you need to do to get a promo.
indicative of a recession, lol. better than a title switch with no raise.
This is not unheard of. My agency does this to bring an employee’s salary up to present day market value.

Either way, congrats on the extra monies!
It’s a merit increase! Aw it’s a good thing. If you want the title promotion, check out what the next level up is doing and work together with manager to reach your goals ❤️ you’re already on the right track if they approved a merit increase ☺️

You got a raise. Perfectly normal. You should get one annually
I echo AD1. They might have realized they’re losing money on you because you were making so much overtime given your income threshold in NY. So they decided to bump you so they don’t need to give you overtime anymore. Sorry. But the fact that they gave you the raise is a great sign they have confidence in you. They want to keep you. But they’re losing money on you.
