After being rejected for a Sr. PM role, my recruiter recommended not to apply to similar roles in Amazon for a year until I work on more large scale projects. I believe my experience is very much driving huge impact on large scale projects having worked with tech behemoths, but maybe I didn’t do a good job quantifying the impact well.

Shall I still go ahead and shoot my shot at similar roles in Amazon communicating my impact better? What’s the worst case scenario of doing so?

Amazons excessive interviews are an awful candidate experience. Why do they think this will help them win top talent in this competitive environment? Especially with their public cultural issues…? Lots of great paying companies without having to take a day off from work to interview! It’s overkill

I had a first interview last Tuesday with Amazon, which I think went well, although I still haven't heard back 6 days later and then got an OOO annual leave msg and a no response when I chased up the named colleague today. Is this typical behaviour others have experienced when dealing with the big tech company recruiters? I found Google and Facebook recruiters to be efficient and TikTok so-so, if not a little slow, but 6 days+ seems poor.
