It would be odd
Lol, fair enough. Thanks!

You seem to feel like you need to be 100% honest here.
You don't: give a stupid platitude answer like "Im ready for a new challenge."
And it will be seen as quite odd if you don't say where, and it will reflect badly on you as a secretive weirdo. Sorry; truth.
Thanks! Lol.

Everyone who asked me where I was going / why I was leaving was like “do you mind if I ask” so i think people realize it’s something some people prefer to keep private and no hard feelings about it

In most states you can look up where attorneys work, so it'd be weird for you to not tell them. But you do you.
I agree. If you are on LinkedIn they will find out rather quickly.
I don’t know if I’ve ever asked anyone why they’re leaving - sometimes they offer it up, but it’s usually some version of “not happy here/want to make a change”. But I def always ask where they’re going!
Not concerned about telling them or them learning where I am once I am officially at the new firm. Instead, I would rather avoid a discussion about comparing my new firm to my current firm.
You don’t need to into the details comparing firms - I just said I wanted to do more international work and left it at that. But it would be weird to refuse to say the firm.
