I wouldn't. Just wait until an announcement. As you said, that was one director, and it may get revoked in the end.
Come up with stats why it may be worth trying, ask the AD if they have ever thought about it and, if they haven't, present a deck or get a meeting to talk about it.
I know of a company that offers the reduced days during the summer. I would not ask questions about it as you were not directly part of the convo.
I’d probably wait for a team meeting or casual catch-up to ask an open question like, “I’ve heard some buzz about new work schedule options—are there any updates in the works?” That way, it feels natural and doesn’t reveal the exact context of how I found out, but still gets the conversation started.
Without context, this could have been an highly conceptual conversation, not based on any actual actionable policy. Either that or they were trolling you lol.
