No
I’m talking about the present, my friend. Literally just happened this previous promotion cycle, L6 -> L7 after 4 months of being hired.
Go ask your HRBP if promotion is based on tenure and read the guidelines for your role.
Sorry if your *past* anecdotes don’t align with the *present* facts 🤷♂️
Your buddy was hired into the wrong level. HR atleast for my org is hunkering down on tenure. It’s within AWS. Agree to disagree
And where’s your source because I know of 5 high performers being told that their tenure is not long enough for L6 or L7. Love to hear your side.
Yeah that’s a lie. It’s based on the role guidelines, but the main thing is leadership support. You need promotion backing from 4 or more people that are ranked higher than you to get promoted.
Without dropping actual aliases here, I know at least 4 people that have been promoted within a year or two (L5 -> L6, and one L6 - L7 promoted within a few months)
Also I heard L6 -> L7 is supposedly harder than L7 -> L8
I’m talking about the present, not the past.
