Hi fishes,
Can you help me with in hand salary?

I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

Get involved in M&A integrations, M&A strategy and most importantly, CDD and VDD work. Sell-side VDD work will get you exposure to the investment bank on the deal and you will be involved in developing the pitch book. If you're lucky, you could sit in on some road show calls.
From your deal work, you can build a deal sheet that you can share with future bank employers.
Then, ride this out until b-school, get an MBA and then go to an i-bank. Having worked on live PE deals (showing your deal sheet will get kudos).
Switching now is hard. Make it a little less hard by moving after b-school.
Assuming you’re pre-MBA, it may help. You’ll have to network very hard and get face time with the IB staff.
However, most IB staff are direct campus hires. Either undergrad or MBA. The most “surefire” way to get into IB would be the MBA route.
Makes sense. I think its worth it.
Just progress in your current role then take MBA then enter as associate. Why bust yourself to come in as an analyst 2 at best after 3-4 years
I personally wouldn't mind it.
Why are you excluding bonus when you compare pay? IB has a much higher bonus target
You right KPMG. I think ill be breaking even more or less if I add in bonus. Seems worth it.
Honestly, you’d have better results getting an MBA and going straight into IB from there. Just make sure it’s a program that’s recruited from and start networking early.
If you want to be an analyst, do analyst things to prove you won’t be useless. Valuations, training the street, etc. so maybe the payout is what you need, but why would you get picked over the rising stars from UG? Answer that and you’ll be halfway there.
