Seriously I can't stand AA either. Just sent them yet another complaint about their absolutely terrible performance on providing updates when flights are delayed. My flight currently still says it was going to take off 40 minutes ago. United does this too, maybe even worse. How hard is it to provide updated estimates so people can plan.

like

And the sky is blue. Both are facts that are well established at this point. I feel for you OP. Sometimes I’d almost rather hitch hike home than fly AA

like

The big 3 are a race to the bottom. What happened Op?

@KPMG1 delta does this too...

They do that on purpose. If they show the proper delay, people will try to rebook and justify that delay. By making it non official, the agent is gonna say that they cant do much (for folks with no status) until it is truly delayed. So much BA when you see that the inbound flight is due to land 5mn before your flight departure time 🤦‍♂️

So glad that I don’t have to fly with any american-based airlines.

I really enjoy having to call in for the record locator on a coreshare flight

Dear All Fisbowls,

I have a query. Request all of yours suggestion and if you have done something similar to this please share.

You have resigned and have offer in hand suppose 15 fixed.
Meanwhile you get another offer but they will give around 17 fixed.
I am thinking to quote my in hand offer as 17 fixed with changes in it and share it with them.
So that they can give me around 20 fixed.
Request to share honest detail here.

It’s hard to trust the partners/leadership when they want us to return to office as being better when we increase offshoring? Also, the pressure on billable hours when all that really matters is how much our fixed labor costs vs. how much we can bill (which is usually fixed fee or at least a range) and the fixed labor costs of offshoring is significantly cheaper so the hours don’t matter. Am I mistaken by this viewpoint?

Additional Posts in Consulting

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Recently started a new project, everyone’s remote, handful know each other, most know no one. Few newer hires. I want to set-up some kind of laid back happy-hour w/out work but I’m failing to find a way to make that happen with 10ish people and I am trying to avoid the mandatory fun vibe. I’d like to get to know these folks, and welcome in the newer ones, but I’m not sure how to proceed(without it being kind of lame).
