Anyone else into Bank Bonus churning?
Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Neither? They are travel cards. You don’t travel.
If you’re not a big traveler, no or low fee cash back cards are probably a better fit.
This. Also amex interest rates are ridiculous if you ever have a tight month or two or overextend yourself.
Travel cards are great if you travel a lot (ie business travel). The perks and the way you earn points are all tied to flights, hotels, Uber, Clear, etc. Great benefits, but only if you travel enough to offset the high annual fees, maximize the points earning, and actually use the perks. Otherwise, the numbers don’t pencil.
If you don’t travel much (4 times a year isn’t a lot), consider the Amex Gold. You earn points multiplier by shopping at supermarkets and restaurants. Plus, you still get a points multiplier on airfare.
Cap1 Venture X $295 annual fee but you get travel credit of $300 every year, $100 TSA precheck+Global Entry included, and lounge access including Priority Pass, Plaza Premium, and Cap 1 lounges. There's also a good intro bonus offer and tons of travel rewards too. Highly recommend for your travel frequency
No need, it is a great card!
If you’re planning to travel more often - go with AMEX plat. Worth every penny IMO. Otherwise, AMEX gold is a fantastic option too. I also have had a pretty great experience with DiscoverIt for every day purchases.
