SPG AMEX + CSR
Amex plat + lowest interest rate, zero frills, high limit card as backup line of credit linked to checking account
But really depends on what you’re trying to accomplish
For me? No. If I was an AA guy, maybe. But who wants to be an AA guy/gal
A1 - correct
Is it worth it to upgrade to the Amex Platinum from the CSR for that extra .2 oz of weight?
Interest rate means nothing on cards. Terrible advice
K1, if you need a backup line of credit you probably shouldn't be springing for an Amex Platinum...
OP, I would say only get the Amex Platinum if you really highly value the Centurion lounge access.
Otherwise, get the CSR + SPG Amex.
Which is going away mck1 with the merger
I keep the SPG AMEX for the additional kicker for points when combined with status
If you’re Delta, definitely go with the Platinum Card
Not suggesting that TSC1, but if you fly Delta the Amex Platinum gives you access to the Delta Lounge network, which is an amazing benefit.
Ah right, forgot about that one! Makes sense :)
They’re both great cards otherwise, I don’t think you can really go wrong :)
Yep! One other thing OP - just in case hadn't heard of it, look up the Chase 5/24 rule before applying for the CSR
American Airlines? Too many acronyms in here easy to get lost
AA >>> United
Why get the Spg Amex? The CSR already gives you 3 points in spg properties + the flexibility to transfer to any program
Spg amex signon bonus plus can argue 2 points better than sapphire
I assume OP wants the SPG Amex for the annual free night and the night credit towards status
WM1, what exactly is going away?
