Annual fee approaching on Cap One Savor Cash card. I really like this card for dining out. Any strategies that have worked for people to try and get the fee waived or negotiate points for keeping it open? I spend $600-800 per mo on it. If not, what is a good card to try and downgrade it to (I could start putting my dining on my CSR instead).

I would assume cap one doesn’t do retention offers that’s mostly an Amex thing.

If its just the 4% cash back for dining you're looking for try the US Bank Altitude Go card, no annual fee.

You can do SavorOne, which is just 3% on each. Never heard of cap one giving waiver or retention offer.

It's not a good card. I'd downgrade to savor one.

Would love to get insight from folks here as I’m not quite sure what to do. I currently have around 14K in student loan debt and enough saved up to pay it off in one fell swoop. What I’m struggling with is whether I should invest that money into the stock market (thinking less risky S&P 500 ETF) and pay off my student loans monthly with the average payment being around 1000 so I can pay it off in about 16-18 months (due to interest being around 5%) or pay it off all in one go?

I have cash to put a large down payment to avoid the high rates but am scared I have no roots and will move in another few years.

Will Amex restricting guess access for Centurion Lounge actually make any difference?

I can see short term changes but the way Amex has been aggressively marketing Platinum card, we just will have overcrowding of primary card holders 🤷🏻‍♂️

What's next, everyone has to spend min. 50k a year to get Centurion lounge access or pay per visit.

Hey fishes, can someone tell me how the 80c bracket works, i know i can get exempt upto 1.5lakh under it, what i wanna know is does PF comes under it or not? For example if my yearly pf deduction is 20k and VPF is 10k so now will i still be able to show investment of 1.5lakh under 80c apart from PF and VPF or i'll be able to get exemption on only 1.2 lakh( 1.5lakh-30k= 1.2lakh)?

Thank you in advance!!

I have a coworker who keeps spouting comparative odds and situations in regards to the safety of the vaccine. Such as: you're twice as likely to get hit by lightening than have blod clots from JJ. It's very annoying and I find it to be really inapprorpriate, maybe because it's pushy or just I find these comparative things to be a bit irrelevant. How does one handle something like that?
