I'm new to investing :
2 questions
1 - where should I invest my
Deloitte 401k in ? Is the vanguard institutional 500 index trust a good place to just put my 401k and forget about it.

2 - I recently opened a fidelity account and have savings I want to invest and want to invest a small percentage every paycheck without worrying about trading it . What's the safest place to invest in and not worry about it for the next 10 years ? VOO? QQQ?

Deloitte KPMG PwC

You work at Deloitte and are hopefully bright, think for yourself 😁

So getting a second opinion or asking folks who know more than me is lazy ? If you have nothing to contribute, stay out of it . Thanks .

If you looking for a long term investment. I'll recommend you try out defi staking plan on for annual enrollment and then max out some probable metaverse tokens and do not touch it. If you need details on how to go about this. Feel free to send me a dm, I am happy to spend a couple of hours keeping you on the correct part at no cost!!

funny

Excellent analogy MD, the only thing that could made it better would be a deck

Yes vanguard 500 index and VOO.

likesmart

It’s a retirement account so yeah fire and forget and let the compound interest do the rest

like

What Md1 said. Can't go wrong with that.

Since the SP500 covers the top 500 listed firms, you might consider getting some exposure into mid and small caps firms. VO and VB, in a taxable brokerage account, will get you that. Or simply VTI, which is the total stock market index ETF, covering 3,000+ stocks.

Vanguard target retirement date fund! The expense ratio is .08% and the fund automatically rebalances as you approach retirement age

like

So splitting between the retirement age fund and 500 a good option or do you recommend putting everything into the retirement date fund ?

None of the answers apart from MD1 are useful
Yes to your first question
Yes to your second question. You can also choose to invest in VTI to have some more diversification instead of VOO

like

So like a 50 50 split between VOO and VTI or 75 25 ? And should I be worried about the current market or should I just keep investing every paycheck and time in the market will eventually work in my favor ?

TQQQ

It's might not be a good retirement plan, but trust me its a good investment to diversify and generate more gains staking your coins. The whole concept is making your coins work for you, not just holding it and risking them to the fluctuations.

The Vanguard is a safe bet for general returns, but don’t expect to beat the market by much at all. Go with ETFs

Can someone help me understand how backdoor Roth works in my situation?

I contribute the $19.5K max to a 401K each year. Would backdoor Roth be (A) the ability to roll $6K of that $19.5K into a Roth? or (B) an incremental $6K that I could contribute to a separate IRA then backdoor into a Roth?

Asked another way, does backdoor Roth allow me to actually contribute $25.5K each year, or does it just allow $6K of my $19.5K contribution to build in a Roth?

Thanks!
