How do u guys get so many offers
If this is your career, proceed cautiously. Titles mean little. You can go to a bank and be an assistant senior vice president tomorrow. Small firms can be good but they can also suck. Just remember. This is a marathon. Not a sprint.
This small firm has about 300 employees and my current PwC partner came from there 2 years ago. He was a director there .. he came to PwC as a partner
depends how much of a challenge you want/can handle
Think about future exit opps from both firms.
Don't even think about the exit opts, but think about what your planned next step is. Which one better aligns to that goal? Which one better supports your family / work life needs?
Same vertical/industry? Go small. Get the title. Head back to big 4 in 3 years as SM
Prob depends on how you want to brand yourself in the long run
PwC that's what I was thinking .. go to small firm put my time in and comeback as a senior manager .. obviously I won't be making as much as a manager at big 4 but I'll be ahead by couple years when it comes to title change .. I'm currently second year senior and in federal practice so promotion to manager usually takes 4 years
Sounds good. The smaller firm may offer you more learning opportunities and maybe you will get more $$ when you decide to boomerang to pwc
What level are you now? How many years out of college?
hmm.
What do you want in the long run career-wise and what's at stake (e.g. supporting a family, head of house, etc)?
Smart!
I have a lot of friends that have done that. I'm about to do it right now lol. I've seen lateral people come in at director from SM too. I think it depends on the needs, networking and exp. but a good move!
Chase $$ and not titles... and in this case you're getting both! Most companies ask for your current pay level anyway so it's not like you're ever realistically getting a huge raise by 'cheating' the system.
