Did 4 rounds of interviews. Last 2 with 2 partners at EY. Haven’t heard back even after 1 month. One partner even commented “you will be a good addition to the team”. Hiring manager gave EY email after her interview call with me.
Fast forward two weeks, no communication. Recruiting was surprised that I was still chasing for this position, month later. Got to know last week that hiring team was continuing to interview candidates. Should I drop the idea to get hired? EY hasn’t rejected me yet.

Best of luck. I have a similar profile with PhD + Consulting then jumping to BD. Interviews were largely fit based and talking about past projects. Definitely highlight indication prioritization, BD diligence, forecasting/valuation type work. A few cases I was asked to do a case study (build a business case to buy this asset or not etc.) BD modeling (Revenue build from epi and then leveraging cost side integrating deal terms to derive DCFs and NPVs) is typically a lot simpler vs 3 statement financial modeling but it will be more important how you've thought and structured such models, if these questions do get asked.
Not the OP but curious - since you've been in BD for a while, how important do you think the phd really is?
I did that role for a year at the associate level with a biochem BS before going back to consulting and the scientific aspects were never an issue. Just thinking about the long term
Think through how you would assess multiple BD targets, in terms of both companies and assets
