Any Big 4/CPAs here buy a home in VHCOL (SF/Silicon Valley/Manhattan)? I’m wondering how do we compete with tech money in CA and high finance money in Manhattan if we don’t have wealthy parents?

Lived in Manhattan for 15 years... Fintech side of finance... Good money pretty much anywhere but Manhattan, but not hedge fund/PE/VC money (I made 500-700+k a year)... Owned a 1 Bd in a new construction building in Chelsea, went out a lot, etc. It was fine until kids... Because the moms hang out and you find out how poor even 1m a year is compared to a lot of your kid's peers. You end up feeling like the poorest rich person a lot. And that's a tough place to be.

Keeping up with the Joneses is a thing everywhere to some degree... But the Joneses in Manhattan are very very hard to catch.

It is (I grew up in Marin and lived in SF after college). Marin is even worse than when I lived there I'm sure.

Hi guys 👋🏻 Can someone please help me with the query below:
I did not file ITR for FY 2020-21.I had actually earned around 3,34,000 becoz I wrote master thesis for foreign students and I got online payment in my acc. So is that taxable?
If yes, then my total income will become 521121.

2ndly, whats the penalty for late filing ITR?

Thirdly, I left my previous job on 02 March, 2021, so I received the Feb 21 & March 21 on April 2021. So does it come under FY 2020-21? OrFY 2021-22?

Thanx guys

Hey, should I try to pay my student debt asap or pay the minimum? My interest is 6%. Another option would be to wait until my credit score increases and refinance.

Feel like I need 7.5-10M to feel comfortable doing this and think this could occur around age 40-50. Anyone successfully done this and taken foot off the gas?
