Strongly Disagree w/ ibm1!! Not only is it a great resume builder (esp. if it’s at a hot startup or a company that’s on the path to going public), but you get to carve out your own role that extends beyond just CoS responsibilities.
I know a couple of folks that were CoS at series B.C companies and were running special projects in parallel. One of them exited to a top tier VC, and the other runs the strategy and biz ops group at another pre-ipo company. Obviously ymmv, but usually the role provides a lot of flexibility especially if it’s at a high growth company
Generally a dead end job
Generally a great resume builder. Do it idk what other I bmer is saying
Why do you say that? There’s always a bigger, hotter startup to hop to
Look up who previous chief of staffs are. They go onto venture, found companies, back to Bschool, or do whatever they want. Seriously. Look up peter Boyce as an example. Obv one doesn’t make a distinction about an entire role and industry, but he’s a prime example
Trumps chief of staff makes like $150k
Lol VP 1
It depends on the company
