Big difference in both. 50% pay raise, more prestigious firm, better perks (e.g. - at SC level you can regularly expense alcohol, coffee and meals under a âmentoringâ charge code). Much worse WLB. Joined two months ago and have consistently worked 50 hour weeks compared to straight 40 at BAH.
Echo above. My pay raise wasnât as high, but agree completely on prestige, perks, hours worked
D1 and D2 â I thought most Fed engagements had a 40 hour/ wk cap? Iâm legacy SL, and my work week is typically between 50-60 + travel. I believe you, but I am surprised. The peers I know in legacy Fed seem to leave client site at 5... maybe itâs a level thing? They are at C and SC level.
For the most junior level, perhaps, depending on the contract. What Deloitte has you do is work 10 hours a week extra on proposals and initiatives, and in my opinion, this is much worse/annoying than client work
I think irrespective of firm, most contracts do not have hard hourly caps. The caps are from internal teams who want to manage either the project profitability (fixed price) or client optics (cost reimbursable). Just from my one-person perspective, Iâve worked on more fixed price contracts at Deloitte, and I bill what I work. Iâve worked the gamut: federal, donors orgs, and higher ed. Additionally, the firm initiatives (people impact ones like practitioner development, lead training, etc) and proposals take up time as well, which I consider work because at Deloitte itâs necessary for high ratings and promotion, and was much less important at at Booz. I was C->A at Booz, C->SC at Deloitte
