Technical Accounting? RSM has active posting for NYC SM in our TAC practice.

Thanks for the reply. After a lot of digging I found some firms have rebranded the senior manager role as director so it’s not very comparable across firms at this level.

like

At RSM consulting uses Director title which is equivalent to Sr Manger in audit.

Tac has senior manager for people who move in the firm and are underpaid and senior director for those coming from outside and are paid a lot more. RSM doesn’t have the client base to build much of the technical accounting so they get it from the outside. They have regular layoffs when people don’t hit utilization and very little coaching from the partner group.

Tell me what is untrue? They have limited SEC clientele, and mostly aicpa audits. They just went through two rounds of layoffs (even though they insinuated there was only one), and they place a very high importance on personal net margin. Their budgets are tighter in the middle market, but they are biting at the heels of the big 4 to move “up market”. There is a saying no Cfo ever got fired by hiring a big 4, and this organization is far from moving to the next tier by light years. They just use people up and get rid of them.

Check out cfgi, Alvarez and Marsal, paradigm, cross country.

Thanks, I’ve heard negative things about CFGI and Cross Country (work quality wise). A&M is building out a practice and I haven’t heard of Paradigm so will check out.

Interviewer asked what my current salary / bonus is and I told them.

I got the offer and it’s exactly the same base/bonus as my current role. (Though they’ll also give me so stock options in the private company).

Can you share what is reasonable % increase to get for salary / bonus when switching jobs? I know the team really likes me.

I'm actually a Registered Nurse; I've emailed support to find out how to change myself from a physician to RN. Are there any nurses on here who were able to get their foot in the door doing CDI without having CDI experience? I've been a nurse; overall, for 16 years. My clinical background is in Med-Surg, Telemetry, Step-Down, Infectious Disease with the last 10 years being away from bedside in Pharmacovigilance. Is it possible to land a CDI position without experience? So far I've had zero luck

Job transition question: I recently accepted an offer for a new role with Merrill Lynch, the following day I was fired from my previous employer. I haven’t filled out the updated work history background check info yet. The reason for termination was due to performance expectations not being met. Should I reach out to my new employer and let them know that I’ve been terminated? Should I just put the termination update on the background check form and leave it at that? Wondering what I should do.

The interview happened last month first week and documentation process also completed. They have given a verbal offer, but no offer letter as there are still doing some audit and compliance on the earlier employments. They have yet not reverted. What should be done in this scenario. Ok, so I got this research request: find case law for the principal that matters settled by the parties (not by a binding settlement agreement) cannot be litigated in subsequent litigation. Basically, the plaintiff told the defendant “we have resolved this issue.” This is not res judicata but maybe some type of estoppel. But honestly, I have never heard of this principal within this context, and I am not finding FL or federal case law to support. Anyone have thoughts?
