Any good book recommendations on finance?
Anyone at DU this week?
AWS Cisco I’ve about 10YOE in IT/Cisco Networking with CCNA TSSCI currently an engineer with dod contractor DMV area. Curious about AWS networking and would like to know if they’re willing to take on a Cisco guy and show them the ways of cloud networking. How is that transition if you’ve done so? nature of job and amount of work/problems vs cisco..
-Looking to possibly make the switch if they allow full WFH (any location) and pay well (160-200). Thanks in advance.
New to Fishbowl?

I've been reverting to the 'old fashioned way' of picking up the phone and shooting the shit. Especially now that the initial phase of 5-minute "wow, crazy times" call intros has slowed, people seem pretty pleased with the opportunity to have a quick chat about what they're doing personal or professional and keep connecting. I feel like I've been able to use the absurdity/uniqueness of the situation as a justification to start discussions that I would have let wait for an event/conference/dinner before.
Agreed. Really interested in others’ thoughts on this. Can we broaden the discussion to include ideas on new relationships too? I feel like I have had good/easy opportunities to maintain relationships, and even expand into new areas of work with existing clients through these times. The hardest part has been trying to get “meetings” with new prospects and get to know people with whom I don’t have an existing relationship. I know these times will ultimately result in a titanic shift in how we network, but I’d like to get ahead of the curve, and I am struggling with how to build new relationships virtually.
I have been making calls, offering to do webinars and presentations, writing articles, and forwarding emails on relevant topics to my clients. Just remind them you are there, ready and waiting, but in the meantime the calls and showing you have an interest in their personal lives during this extremely stressful time will really resonate with them. Remember, it take years to build up relationships and trust. Good luck!
