L9 are more like SME and provide oversight on a project/account. You might have to roll up the sleeves for POCs from time to time. The biggest thing is your mindset and thought process has to be strategic and long term planning for a client/account.
L8/L7 will be far more hands on but more involved in day to day project work.
Ok thanks! My biggest fear is coming on as a glorified developer with a fancier title. Definitely more interested in the bigger picture and working closely with marketing stakeholders
Me
Are you joining new
Yes. Joining in feb doing marketing cloud
Depends on projects if its implementation then ur role be more of tech lead
Wasn't l8 a director role few months back
Mentor
No, never.
No its Tech lead l9 is director that’s typically manager
L8 was a director as per the offer letter I had few months back
Mentor
I would check again because L8 is definitely Sr. Manager and L9 is Director.
Then its l9 double check
oP...do you mind sharing RSUs on your level
I’m interviewing for a Partner Lead Director role. The hiring manager is a RVP— I thought Director and RVP were same level just different orgs (sales vs CSG).
Does your job role dictate your level or do additional factors like YOE, etc come into play as well?
Think I replied on your other thread.
I was L8, manager and IC at times.
L8 is not director level.
L8 was everything from running new project kickoff workshops to creating DevOps from
Scratch to being a dev manager for 5-15 person teams and running them daily hands on to implementing the hard things no juniors could get their heads around.
L9 I don’t know if I ever met a L9 IC TA in CSG.
Presumably not tied to a single project, expected to be a “thought leader” or some shit.
Kind of mind boggled that you could come on as L9 TA - do you have a lot of platform experience?
