Sales isn’t rocket science. Dont think of it as sales as much as it’s just relationship building. No book can teach you how to be an actual human with conversational skills and a personality. Just be yourself and ask a lot of questions. People like to talk about themselves and like people who give them the opportunity to do that. The rest falls into place
I’m pretty outgoing and conversational. If sales just fell into place, there wouldn’t be observable difference in success across partners. I think it’s a misconception we don’t need training or to pursue improvement, on top of just putting yourself out there for more exposure. I’m trying to be more deliberate.
Hi OP
Retired partner here.
If you'd like to speak live, let me know. I was fortunate to have success and I also coached other partners internally as well as managers and staff.
I can also refer you to a great former partner who now coaches on this for a living.
Agile & Resilient was a helpful book for me. I’ve implemented many of the relationship development concepts and have more growth in my ledger than I can currently handle.
