Any tips for how to let go of non-malpractice failures? i.e. losing client, bad comment on a review, a mistake in a case. I’ve accomplished other things but keep tripping over things behind me.

If client base ECL on fwd looking rate such as country GDP for lifetime ECL but a substantial portion of the receivables are already collected, do we apply the forward looking rate to the gross or net amount? In other words, is subsequent receipt an adjusting event for expected credit loss? If not, why not?

Was hired for an analyst type of role to gain more technical skills, instead I was placed at a client site where I’m basically a glorified teacher. How do I salvage my career at this point?

I think I just fucked up a job opportunity because interviewing in the pandemic is killing me. Last week a single interview in a round of 4 was scheduled in eastern time, not central like all others (and based on both office location and my location CST would make sense). I missed the interview. We rescheduled for today. I had a last minute client meeting I was presenting & on-camera right before and it ran over. I was 12 minutes late. Luckily I still got 20minutes with the team....

My last day at my current firm is Monday. The GC of the largest book I work on informed me this week that they want to follow me to the new firm. It’s a healthy 250k/year book. For me, a big deal. This is a client I did not originate and they predated my time at current firm. Leaving amicably is somewhat important to me. GC wants a smooth but immediate transition. Thoughts? Do you tell your mentor that your poaching a big fish or wait till you land at new firm and send the file request.
