Any suggestions on what to do differently considering the current economic climate? I’m at a Big 4 firm (not Deloitte) and concerned about layoffs. I haven’t taken any vacation this year and don’t want to take the voluntary hour reduction either. I plan to just keep my head down and deliver/sell as best I can. Should I be more proactive? Get involved with a specific big account I’ve been avoiding for a while now?

My work product is becoming worse and partners are noticing/commenting. I just hate the practice area so much that every time I am asked to do something I just get it done as quickly as possible and can’t be bothered to put in effort. I think I need to quit so I’m not fired for bad performance with a horrible reputation. Am I nuts and should I just wait til they let me go?

What can help me (2 YOE at B4) get an interview at MBB besides a referral? Certain skills, certain qualifications, GMAT score, or something else?

Long post alert; I have been interviewing with a b4 for a senior con role since Mar end. Cleared all the rounds including case study and got strong rating as well as good feedback. Fast forward to last week, the talent POC calls me up and informs that she has asked the business if the position is still open, because now they just need the business approval to roll out the offer. I immediately felt demotivated as to ‘why now’ after all rounds have been cleared (continued in the comment below)
