Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.
I think I might get a divorce

Isn't that a question about getting clarity what is it that you want to achieve, putting things into priority and setting the expectations level. It's always a matter of choice and there is a no good balance. Think about it more as where does your energy come from and where it goes. Like a flywheel. You get it from work, give it away at home, also you get it at home and bring it to work... Does that make sense for you?
It’s important not to miss the little moments in life as all the sacrifices we made in med schools are with the point of enjoying them. Most companies/hospitals offer a reasonable work/life balance in terms of scheduling, maybe a finding a different job who adjusts more to your schedule might be the solution. At least my job gives me the choice of having 5 guarantee days off a month, i work 14 shifts of 12 hours a month. Maybe it’s time to consider another job and you might be lucky and even get a better offer that can allow you to cut some hours in your schedule.
I have been in EM for 17 years. I am looking to transition out of it. I would rather work 4/5 days a week and be home at night with my children. I also don't want to work weekends or major holidays. I hate my children later in life, 41 and 43. I want to prioritize my family.
