I would suggest within your first two weeks, have separate connect calls with all the staff that will work with you. Obviously be respectful, but let them get to know you and your personality a little. The most important thing I will say anyone can do to be successful when meeting new staff members is to always ask them their learning style. Be sure to take notes on what each says and teach them how they learn (if you’re not already doing this). I am of the opinion that it is the responsibility of the person giving instructions and teaching to make sure the listener understands. Best way to stay above water as a new manager is to delegate as quickly as possible and the best way to do that is to be a manager staff want to work for. I would have a similar call with the seniors to get to know them as well. If you feel comfortable ask them what things they have done to help the team succeed since you probably have seniors on your team doing the job you’re doing just without the title.
this is a very helpful and thorough comment thank you.
Ask if you can be assigned a peer advisor (another manager) at the firm that you can ask questions to when unsure of firm processes.
