Interested in same question. 9 written 11 multiple choice at manager level
I believe it’s a mixture of trivia (multiple choice), general knowledge (multiple choice, occasionally shows up in the written section as well), and open-ended creative response questions (written section only).
The three categories of questions are meant to address the Big 3 attributes proven to be drivers of consulting excellence — respectively: conversational ability, worldliness, and that indefinable spark called human ingenuity.
For your reference, past questions in the writing section include “what would you bring if you knew you would be marooned on a desert island?”, “which bird do you most resemble?”, and “how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?”
Yes, they’re all questions we’ve heard before, but the key here is to give a truly original answer backed by some kind of quantitative analysis. This sort of “wrangling abstract questions into concrete solutions” is exactly the sort of thinking that separates decent consultants from great ones.
Wow. I find those types of questions pretty ridiculous. They are so abstract as a hiring manager I wouldn't know what to do with the answer. they are just wild card questions.
Especially on a written exam. Maybe in real time interview it can be used to judge how you react to unique challenging situations.
It is dependent on what level you are applying for
It’s at consultant level
how was it? have this coming up
