Higher offers at 27-28 with more fixed pay is from contract and hire/fire type companies. Mostly indirect hiring instead of direct employment with the final employer, means higher pay with lower jon security - we get little more pay, companies get the option to let go with ease later!

Finally leaving my position at a nonprofit in DC and I didn’t think I would be so excited. The office has been closed to clients since the pandemic, but the ED decided that we HAVE to start coming in to the office for some reason, and had a stern talk to me that I need to be in at 10AM ON THE DOT, even if I work through lunch and take calls on the weekends. We recently sleep trained our 7 month son. He went from waking up multiple times during night and taking only 30 minute naps 3 times during day (most cases nursed to sleep or rocked to sleep or took a drive) to sleeping 12 hours at night without interruption and two 2 hour naps and one 45 minutes nap during day.
