Cum
Explosives, baby.
You will get one way ticket to Guantanamo bay
Gun powder residue
It doesn't test for gunpowder residue it tests for explosives. Also, there is nothing illegal about firing a gun even an hour before a flight and you shouldn't have to prove you were hunting.
Absolutely nothing, I had a colleague that had a bag that he used to carry explosives in Iraq, he used it his first week back and they randomly swabbed it and it came back clear. All of TSA is window dressing
Last time I got ass was when the toilet paper broke
First week in a project in Dallas, I went to a gun range on Wednesday. Realized Thursday when I was walking through tsa thinking "oh shit oh shit". Got pulled aside for random hand check and luckily I was good.
I tested positive even though I had not used a gun (in years...). TSA guy told me it was probably either my soap or a hand cream because some brands contain enough glycerine to give a positive reading
Op: exact same thing happened to me in Dallas. Went skeet shooting and then came home and did some work on my laptop.
I got randomly selected for them to wipe down my carry on when I flew home and my laptop tested positive for explosives.
Good news though: the pat down they give you is almost as thorough as a full-body massage. So I had that going for me. Which was nice.
So what would happen if I was say, hunting a day before a flight, and I tested positive?
Take any paperwork you have from hunting (license, parking receipt, etc.) I always take my receipt from the range with me if I go right before a flight.
TSA has some of the most rude people working for them.
A. You'll most likely be good B. My manager got pulled over once and the machine beeped for her. They just did some additional checks on her luggage and she was allowed to go
The machine can test for explosives or "drugs" (<- I'd guess cocaine)
Anything related to materials that makes explosives. I got stopped once after gardening over the weekend because of the fertilizer still left on my hands.
Went to a shooting range immediately before flying-all good through TSA.
Brought a tiny container of chia seeds through security-sets off the alarm, then get all of my bags searched, tested, scanned. Plus a full body pat down. The TSA girl and I got REAL close!
