Anybody know what will be the interview process, how many rounds & will it be difficult or medium? I'm currently working in cognizant with 6.2 as CTC. Pls don't ask about my CCTC as I'm not in right frame of mind. I was cheated here and desparate to move. Currently holding tcs offer of 9.7. Don’t expect the same range of salaries in Canada. There are a few opportunities, but lot of competition as well in Canada. Vancouver is expensive but mimics Seattle and Montreal you need French. I see a lot of new companies setting up their base in both cities. Extra tax you pay will be compensated with free health for whole family. Spouse will receive a open work permit and can work for any employer. All the time you spend in Canada will be counted for PR and Citizenship.
I wish I could double star this
Salaries are about half of US salaries. Montreal is a beautiful city but you must speak French to really build your brand. Good luck!
Wow, half. I know cost of living is about 25% less but that’s a big haircut.
C’est bon alors que ma famille est française 😉
We moved almost 2+ years ago from US, first to Montreal and then to Toronto. Toronto salaries are higher and there are definitely more opportunities there compared to Montreal. DM if you'd like to know more about the move experience. Happy to help.
Did this exact move last year.
Taxes are on the higher side here, but not so much if you already stay in cities like New York / SFO. the taxes do pay for your free(but slower) healthcare in the country for you and your family, childcare benefits/credits.
Salaries in Canada are not as high as the US, but if you do an intra company transfer, you are likely to be given an equivalent CAD salary (100k CAD for your 100k USD). it is lower in absolute terms, but can help you sustain similar lifestyles.
Yes on the spousal visa. You would be eligible to apply for the PR/permanent residence in about a year after your move through express entry/TR to PR programs. And you stay in the country will count towards eventual citizenship.
You could also apply for a PR (via express entry) from the US and move directly on a PR to the country.
Appreciate that insight ❤️
