Can we stop this night shift culture from corporate work? If you need people on a night shift, hire someone in the US. Why to make life miserable for Indians, just coz we are cheaper resources? Night shift makes sense if you are on a government job. Else, it's just exploitation. Thoughts?

Might be a bit controversial. As a non-Western (ie not Asian-American or equivalent) Asian person, I kind of find it a bit weird that AAs talk of Asia as their homeland, especially when they hardly speak the language/ spend the time there. Wonder if there’s any parallel to how the real Africans feel about fetishisation of Africa by African-Americans, or how Italians would laugh at Americans who brag about their “Italian Mama” who maybe had a grandad from Naples. AAs, what makes you Asians?

I have a hard time getting along with my future mother in law. She likes to talk about money, judging people/me and I never heard her compliment others. I understand it maybe her culture and background make her that way. But every time after she visited us I am extremely unhappy. She is picky about food I make, always want things changed in my house etc. Herself is not wealthy like she acts so maybe that’s why she comes off that way? I started at IBM 3 months ago and have had huge amounts of idle time. I am wondering if this is normal for IBM and whether others have turned around and left as a result? I have an external offer and want to take it but I’m worried about perception of leaving so quickly. I’m getting worried as my utilization sits around 50% and I would rather leave than getting fired.
