Hi Guyz,
Any one from IBM ?
I went through the entire recruitment process and got selected for IBM ISL. Now I am being told by the HR that they are unable to release offer as there is a hiring freeze.
Can any one please tell me if its correct or just an excuse not to give me offer. If its true, when will this freeze be removed?

I am currently interviewing at TikTok for the Content Partnerships Lead role. Can anyone share some insight into the salary bands in the Sub-Saharan African market? Should I benchmark with the global rates?
Any tips and experiences interviewing in this region are also welcome - and highly appreciated! :)

SF practice here - if your technical, come on over. If your functional, we have enough of those

I am in our cyber practice and truly love my co-workers and the work is fairly interesting. I am displeased with the pay and vague expectations that may or may not result in promotion and the politics of the firm. I stay for the people but worry about my career.
Northwest market. PwC is not having layoffs - hiring freeze is in place for most positions and performance based layoffs seem to have been higher than normal.
It’s Big 4...going to be highly dependent on the specific practice you end up in
Like some people said, homogenous work culture in big4 firms is a myth. There are too many variables involved (partner, directors, timelines committed, type of work, mix of teams, and most importantly the client).
I have been part of the firm for more than 4 years in SF practice. There are some of best people I met (they will remain as my lifetime friends) and some folks that I won’t smile if we run into each other in aliens land. One thing I can say, I have not met a dumb person so far though. Met smart people, toxic & manipulative, helpful, personal etc but not dumbest fellow.
Which practice at KPMG?
Yes OP, that is true. Many left to work for pure play tech firms. Phds were being underutilized
It’s Big4, you get both ends of the spectrum and everything in between.
Definitely using some cool tech though
Been with the firm for past 4.5 years. Never had to deal merging the with doc, ppt shit. We use google suite, and I cannot imagine going to back to a firm working with MS offline products.
Having said that, google is not gold. It annoys many times with its crazy loading times, and gives up during important meetings.
