Your job is to be skeptical and generally take nothing at face value. Then you get your ass handed to you in review notes. It's hard not to end up negative...
I've been there where everything was a reason to bitch. Not saying I'm loving life but things have gotten better since I've realized a lot of it's me. Not because I'm shit but because I was too focused on the negative parts of everything. Still bored but not as negative.
Yes! Lately I need a hug :(
Literally have become the most negative person over the past two years. Always finding the next thing to bitch about. It's consuming. And not healthily and I know it. Yet not ready to jump ship yet
It's good to know I'm not alone. ...but what to do about it?
@OP I considered everyday I didn't flip out a success. I also had a few close friends at work who had to deal with me complaining. I would also spend the bare minimum amount of time at work.
I called my senior manager out saying I did a great job, but leaving 100 review notes. He proceeded to print it out and write an A on it as if he was grading it.
Right there with you @grant Thornton 1
🙋
Cynical, yes
Leave. I knew it was time to go when I became an extremely negative person when that isn't my personality normally.
Leave to where? You still at EY? You mean leave consulting?
@EY1 Got meetings set up with recruiters. Just wasn't sure if people had figured out how to manage their attitudes better
I left EY and public accounting all together. Find another job or something that won't make you nearly as negative.
I get irritated when I have a ton to do but not necessarily negative
nope
Yes
I think the way our work is reviewed is completely wrong. It needs to be graded like an exam; how much we get right, so we don't have to dwell on the few review points we get. All of us would probably score 80-90%.
hahahha... I want an A too!!!
If you need a grade, you need to grow up
