Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!

I definitely think it has a lot to do with the current market. There are way fewer jobs now, so far more applicants vying for the ones that are available. I'd probably still ask for feedback, though. Maybe there's something you're doing without realizing it that you could work on to improve your results in future interviews.
You're not the only one. It's seems like there's wayyyy more people looking for jobs that actual job available. You can try to ask for feedback but many times they are vague on that. I hope you can find something soon!
Thanks, yeah I've tried getting feedback but it's always superficial
Have been on the job hunt for 3 months and my applications just seemed like they only live until interviews. I'm beginning to get discouraged.
