Flew to Florida for an interview. Flight delays and all that fun stuff meant I had 45 minutes to get from the airport to Hertz (off site of course) and then to the interview. Had to change into my suit in the Hertz bathroom.
I forgot to put my tie on (with the collar buttoned) forgot my notes and my resume. I walked in the door just as the hiring manager was coming to the lobby to greet me. Sweating like a whore in church.
Completely and utterly bombed the interview. Couldn't ask a single follow up question. Had no answers for them. Couldn't speak to a single strength I had. It was an absolute disaster. Went back to my hotel feeling an absolute failure and decided to get drunk on the beach cause I'd never find a job.
They still called me the next day and offered me the job saying "I knocked it out of the park." I wound up turning the offer down because I was so embarrassed. It all worked out in the end.
EY1 I was. It was bad. My suit jacket had pit stains. After running for 45 minutes, being super anxious and in that lovely Florida humidity, I'm surprised it wasn't worse.
Sometimes their assessing how you’ll handle unexpected situations. It may look/feel like you bombed it but maybe they were looking at a different set of skills rather than just the right answer.
Either way, you got the invite to come back! I hope you land the offer :)

Happened to me a few weeks ago with a case interview
BLEW my case interview. I fumbled. But, hey, I got the job. I was an articulate fumbler, for what it’s worth
