Say it with me: affirmative action should be race-blind and based on wealth/income
C2 because affirmative action is racially discriminatory against populations that do not deserve that. If you have class-based AA only, it will still disproportionately advantage black/Latino people in the US given their average wealth/income. And it won’t have the perverse effects that AA currently does, which is giving easy rides to wealthy blacks/Latinos and punishing poor Asians
Not just this cycle. This cycle is harder for everyone and then adding the Asian American male challenges that occur every cycle on top of that makes it borderline impossible to get into the best schools unless you are literally the perfect candidate. Other demographics have a lot more leniency when it comes to scores, story, etc.
If you’re a male born and raised in an over-represented SEA country, you’re living life in difficult mode. I’m in the same pool and totally sympathise with you. Just don’t go the M7 or bust route, look at other schools which are little lenient.

Yea I’m Asian male, no interviews despite average stats (730 gmat) and used an mba consultant for round 1 to craft my story, and went the m7 or bust route and didn’t even land an interview....
D1, I’m not taking your comment personally. What I’m saying here is that this year is very competitive. The reason a person doesn’t get interviews may not be related to the fact he is an Asian male. It may be that he is just not as qualified as other candidates regardless of gender and race.
Tell me about it... Why can’t they recognize someone who is SEA from a low-income, refugee (non-economic immigrant) background? Ethnic-wise, very low representation in masters programs as well...
It's always hard for asians unfortunately. Not complaining, but 760 GMAT, 4 years in the Army, 2 years in consulting & prior international student, 1st gen immigrant profile should atleast get me an interview at Columbia. lol
Nope, nothing. Straight reject. Oh well. 🤷🏼♂️
If Asian American men are placed in a disadvantage, is it just better not to declare race at all then?
AA male in finance and got lucky with an interview with Booth, but did not convert. 😭
AA male who went to hyp and turned away from hsw with a 740 lmao. I’m not going to b school
