I’m currently enrolled in the I/O Psych Ph.D program with Liberty University. I have to go online due to working full-time, but I also did both my undergrad and masters online so I don’t have many data points to compare between online and in-person.
There were several schools I looked at. Liberty seemed to be the most credible that I found and also offered great perks for veterans. Many schools definitely seem to be capitalizing on the online model and I was weary of the quality of education I was going to be receiving.
Thanks for the wishes and certainly.
What programs are you thinking? I’d look at where alumni land before you make your decision.
R1 schools are usually looking to place academic. However, many are placing, I’d bet, over 50% of their students into applied positions bc firms get the value of IO and IOs. You’ll find these grads all over from FAANG, to B4, to MBB, to government (i.e., NASA, FBI).
The true “online” schools, like Walden and Kaiser, I don’t know much about. I’d look at where alumni land after graduation. LinkedIn is easy for this. These programs probably have higher acceptance rates bc you’ll be paying $$$. You’ll probably still find high performers landing jobs at great firms.
Maybe Northcentral or Walden. I’m not sure yet. I’d like to stick to working in corporate. Do you think it’ll be beneficial for me to get my doctorates?
