Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.

I feel like that pay is hard to come by in healthcare for SM levels - especially in industry. Jobs with that high of pay probably are harder to get.
Who is your employer?
Guidehouse just snagged a huge CDC implementation centers deal that I’m still salty about.
To land an SM level role in this job market you legitimately must be bringing a pipeline with you/ have a real market-making prowess based on current healthcare topics like HTI-2, TEFCA, Public Health infrastructure, etc.
And the reality is IMO if you have that your current employer ain’t letting you go anywhere.
Agree! Need to bring a current pipeline with you!

What is Sr Manager at Guidehouse? I though you guys did EM -> AD -> D
Sr manager is an AD or junior D at GH. We go SC, MC, AD, D, P…
You are not going to come close to that salary in industry unless you have strong previous industry experience.
Consulting experience does not always equal industry experience and the salary level you are looking at is closer to COO or VP level salaries. Not a lot of those positions out there.
Good luck!
What is your skill set? This type of money is only in strategy consulting which I am not sure Guidehouse did
Well, I was at AD level and base was $235k. Directors within IT strategy and other groups probably had variable salaries ranging from $230-280k base. I don’t know the exact numbers.
