It’s high-risk. Some things to think about - don’t put any more than you are willing to lose. Whether that’s 1%, 5%, 50%. And DCA. It’s going to have huge swings, so you’re not panicked about chasing the downturns or regret if you lump sum in at a peak, set up an auto amount daily/weekly/monthly
Nothing in crypto is low risk, but I invest weekly into BTC/ETH. I hold it on voyager so I get interest on those coins while holding them there (happy to provide a referral). I don't plan to touch it for a while. If you try to chase gains you'll likely get burned.
Yes bitcoin and ethereum. You're just starting out, so any amount you're comfortable with is fine. Try to DCA and invest weekly/monthly if you can.
Also take advantage of referrals if you're making a new account. Coinbase is $10 of BTC and voyager is $25 of BTC (can provide either if you want). There are other platforms like gemini and crypto(dot)com but I haven't used them before.
Coinbase pro is one of the better ones for low fees. You can make a coinbase account first and then use the same login info to use the pro version (for free).
All cryptocurrency is high risk. The closest thing might be staking or holding coins for 5-8%, but that is not guaranteed in the same way that savings accounts are.
Kraken guarantees high returns for staked assets. Blockfi has high yield interest accounts, but the SEC is scrutinizing these types of “savings accounts”, so those might be closed down/changed eventually.
I have a large amount of my portfolio in crypto. I would recommend not buying now, I believe we are at the end of the bull market and will see substantial price reductions in the coming year. We just hit new ATHs for Bitcoin last month - the market will continue to fall. New ATHs will not be achieved until after 2024.
Hmmmm I don’t know, I would approach BTC as more of an equity and DCA and HODL. Same with ETH. The rest can be considered more speculative.
