This is going to be a really tough sell. Any in-house job that would be appealing to a transactional group would typically require transactional experience at a big firm to get. Maybe there is an exception if you litigate in a specific industry and then want to go to transactional work in that same industry.
F. I also want to move to corporate and wondering if this route will work. I think one might need to start off at a junior role as in-house might not teach you how to run a transaction the way private practice teaches you.
If you somehow found a way to do this, they’d probably bring you in as a first year because you would have no meaningful experience doing similar transactions. And if they’re hiring first years, they’d probably be looking at recent grads or laterals from other biglaw shops. Very tough sell trying to retool via in-house experience.
